Traditional cooked fish lunch on the stove

We invite you to dine in an authentic, traditional setting, as it once was, with food cooked on the stove, with wood fire, with BIO ingredient, chosen only as the recipe dictates, passed down from generation to generation by the locals of this wonderful areas.

An experience in the area must include a traditional feast, with authentic food, cooked over a wood fire, on the stove.

1. FISH SOUP COOKED TRADITIONALLY ON THE STOVE

The real fish soup from Dobrogea is made over low heat, from fresh fish (from the Danube), of several kinds.

Fish soup is made with few vegetables: potatoes, onions, peppers and tomatoes. The star is the fish.

It is improperly called fish borscht because it is soured with vinegar, not bran borscht. The correct name is fish soup.

The secret of fish soup is to use as many species of fish as possible. Fishermen used at least five types of fatty and leaner fish.
After cleaning the fish, leave the eggs, milk and bladder in it. They give a special flavor to the soup.

The soup is seasoned with vinegar, salt and larch. It has a special taste if eaten with garlic sauce.

The fish is taken out separately on a plate and eaten with mujdei. The fish soup is eaten separately.

2. FRIED FISH IN CORN CRUST, SERVED WITH CREAMY GARLIC SAUCE AND POLENTA

The village of Crișan, located on the banks of the Danube, next to a whole network of ponds rich in fish of all kinds, abounds in species, so simple, fish-based dishes are the tastiest.

We really like fried fish with corn.

The fish, cleaned of scales and bones, washed and dried, will be seasoned with salt and very little pepper. We then roll it through corn on both sides.

Heat the oil well. When it starts to sizzle, fry the fish, browning it nicely on each side.

The fish becomes crispy, we sprinkle it with a little garlic sauce and we eat it with gusto, together with a polenta. Wonderful!

3. FLUFFY DONUTS LIKE GRANDMA’S.

Known since time immemorial, prepared and enjoyed by everyone, the most precious sweet is a hot donut with a lot of sugar on top that no one refuses.

Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, strongly flavored and exceptionally tasty, the donuts prepared on the stove have a special taste that reminds us of the nostalgia of memories from when we were children.

This event can be organized on request, at an additional cost for at least 8 people, preferably for all guests staying in our location.
